A Pennsylvania School District Is Under Fire For What?!?

A Pennsylvania school district is under fire for threatening parents in a letter that they will send their children into foster care if the parents don't pay the child's lunch bill debt.

A family received the letter from the Wyoming Valley West School District because of a $75 lunch bill.

The letter read, "Your child has been sent to school everyday without money and without breakfast and/or lunch. This is a failure to provide your child with proper nutrition and you can be sent to Dependency Court for neglecting your child's right to food."

It then says that parents are at risk to have their kids sent to foster care.

The county in which the school is in notified the school that they are not allowed to make such a threat.

The school has not apologized and said they will now send 'softer letters to parents.'
