Woah, Say What?!
Typically birth is a onetime occurrence, but not for baby Jackson!
Joni Reinkemeyer found out at her 19-week ultrasound that Jackson had developed spina bifida, which is a birth defect where the spinal cord doesn’t develop properly, leaving a gap in the baby’s spine.
Her doctor suggested an operation to close the gap, which would help him have an easier life. But it would also mean that her baby would be born twice!
The operation involves “delivering” the baby, operating on it, and then returning it to the womb to complete the rest of the pregnancy, therefore being “born twice!”
