Think about this the next time you are getting ready to jump into a public pool or go to a water park this summer, the CDC might make you think twice.

You're Welcome!

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has a new report that says contaminated recreational waters caused 493 disease outbreaks between 2010 and 2014.

The result of those outbreaks included over 27,000 people reporting sickness and 8 reported deaths. About half of the outbreaks happened between June and August.

The biggest culprit was hotel pools and hot tubs followed by public park pools, club and rec center water activities and water parks.

Experts say avoid getting into these waters if you've had diarrhea in the last two weeks! Also, don't swallow the water when swimming and rinse off in the shower before jumping in!
