This Teen Was Awarded a $100K Scholarship by Beyonce and Jay-Z’s Foundation

An Arkansas teenager has been awarded one of the very first $100,000 scholarships by Beyonce and Jay-Z's foundations.

High school senior Karissa Jackson of Lawrenceville is receiving the scholarship funded from Beyonce and Jay-Z's OTR II Scholarship Program through the BeyGOOD Initiative and Shawn Carter Foundation.

The program was established for exceptional high school seniors with a record of academic excellence.

Karissa's resume is impressive. The 17-year-old is heavily involved in her community and at the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. She leads a cheerleading program, tutors kids and works on providing meals to military families and holiday meals.

This is so dope! Love when artists support our youth in any capacity.
