John Witherspoon Reveals Why Chris Tucker Left “Friday”

Recently Mike Epps took to his Instagram to confirm that a fourth 'Friday' movie was in production and a lot of people are speculating whether or not Chris Tucker will make a return to the sequel.

Chris Tucker recently addressed the question of whether or not he would return for another 'Friday' movie. "I don't know. I talked to Cube about it," he said on ESPN's The Plug Podcast. "He told me he was working on some stuff. And if it comes together right, I'm definitely gonna look at it and see if it works. 'Cause I never say never."

During an interview, John Witherspoon shed light on why he believes Tucker originally stepped away from the franchise. "Friday cost $2 million to make and we got paid $5,000 a piece to do that movie."

Witherspoon also noted that Tucker's departure came after he was offered $20 million to do Rush Hour alongside Jackie Chan.

"I wouldn't go back to Friday either," Witherspoon said. "It's all about the money."
