With the reemergence of vinyl albums it was only a matter of time before someone took the old school technology into the 21st century.
Austrian-based startup Rebeat Innovation filed a patent in 2016 to create vinyl albums that would have superior audio quality, louder volume, and longer playing times than standard LPs.
They expect to start testing their HD albums in September, possibly hitting stores eight months later by summer of 2019.
According to Billboard, vinyl sales made up 14% of all music sales in the US for 2017.
