Rick Ross Disses Birdman In New Track, Lil Wayne Shows His Appreciation

Lil Wayne has responded to some pretty straight shots Rick Ross took at Birdman in a new leaked track "Idols Become Rivals", from his forthcoming Rather You Than Me album.

It's no secret that Weezy and Birdman have been caught up in a complicated beef for years, revolving around unpaid dues and Wayne's still un-released Carter V project. Rick Ross came to Wayne's defense in the new track, saying "I used to look up to you, n****".

Ross even dedicated an IG post to the NOLA rapper.

"The Level of respect and Love that I have for WAYNE makes it hard to sit back and not speak on the situation," he wrote. "The streets need you.Being a Boss means having the courage to say the things everybody thinking but scared to say.I can't wait for you to hear it.Midnight. #idolsbecomerivals."

Lil Wayne is grateful for Rozay's support, according to a tweet he posted in response to the message.

"dam big bro that msg hit me in the heart and put the motivation on automatik start. I needed that. 1 boss 2 another," Weezy wrote.
