Recently, Cardi B went on a rant about the government shutdown on her Instagram page which you can watch below. It got her trending on social media almost instantly.
Stephen Colbert created a campaign to get her to deliver the State of The Union with a petition that got over 73k + people to vote according to Glamour .
"It all started because Cardi doesn’t think people should have to work for free. Earlier this month the rapper turned to Instagram to deliver a rant in which she summed up the true viciousness of the government shutdown better than Rachel Maddow, Chris Hayes, and Chuck Todd combined. “This shit is crazy,” she said in the viral clip. “Like, our country is a hellhole right now, all for a **** wall. And we really need to take this serious.”
The way she explained it really opened a door for people to not only better understand things but to see how it affects people. She used her platform to create a conversation. She talked about how scared she is and even as Cardi B with her money moves and such, this still affects her and her baby daughter. She did get in a battle with Tomi Lahren but she stood up for herself. She found "common ground" between parties and encouraged people to stick to what they believe in.
Now Democratic parties like in Iowa want Cardi B to head out there to speak with voters so does this mean Cardi could be making political moves? I mean Cardi B 2020 doesn't sound so bad huh?! Hahaha
