Yup, that's right!
You can get paid for not making cheesecake this holiday season and that's all due to a cream cheese shortage and supply chain disruptions.
So the makers of Philadelphia Cream Cheese are willing to pay its consumers $20 to NOT buy their cream cheese and make cheesecake.
Per CNN, "last year, with more people baking and eating at home, demand for cream cheese jumped about 18% compared to 2019." It's stayed at that high level in 2021, according to Kraft (KHC).
Crazy right?! Well, it's true.
