Jason Momoa has been in the industry for a long time. Man I remember when he was on Baywatch. But his career truly never took off until AFTER "Game of Thrones."
If you're not a "GOT" fan, his characters name was Khal Drogo. You'd think someone who was on "Game of Thrones" would be set, but because his character was killed off in the middle of the first season, there was a time where he and his family were struggling.
Well in a new interview with InStyle magazine Jason opened up about that period of time. He says he was completely in debt and struggled to pay the bills for his home that he shares with his wife Lisa Bonet.
"I mean, we were starving after "Game of Thrones'" - "I couldn't get work. It's very challenging when you have babies and you're completely in debt."
Even working on "GOT" kind of hurt him in upcoming casting roles
"For a while afterward, a lot of people bagged on me. It hurt me a lot. People thought I didn’t speak English,"
But he said after a little bit of time he booked some good gigs and things really turned around!
Hell ya they did, he was in Justice League, had his own superhero movie Aquaman and starred in a Super Bowl commercial that was legit the funniest commercial that year.
