This is AMAZING! I hope it stays this way and more countries get to announce the same thing!
New Zealand has eliminated transmission of the coronavirus and will start to lift all containment measures except they will not accept international travel!
The Prime Minster of New Zealand said "Today there are no active cases in New Zealand. We have tested almost 40,000 people for COVID-19 in the past 17 days and non have tested positive. We have had no one in hospital for COVID-19 for 12 days! It's been 40 days since the last case of community transmission, 22 days since that person finished their self-isolation!"
That is really AMAZING!!!
For now, the border remains shut to all but citizens and residents, with some limited exceptions. Everybody who does enter has to go into quarantine.
