Some California Kids Will Receive Up To $365 During Coronavirus Pandemic

Here's a bit of good news!

If your child is eligible for free or reduced-price lunches at school, this is for you. If you answered yes, you'd be getting a one-time payment of up to $365 per child for emergency food.

Expect it to arrive between now and May 22. Social services will be sending the payments out on debit cards. The extra money is part of the state's "Pandemic Emergency Benefits Transfer" or P-EBT program.

Also, the payments are in addition to any other aid your child may already be receiving.

Families whose children are eligible will receive their payments as followed:

  1. March 2020: $68 per child
  2. April 2020: $120 per child
  3. May 2020: $120 per child
  4. June 2020: $57 per child

The four months total up to $365.

If you already have CalFresh, Medi-Cal, or Foster Care, the funds will be mailed to you automatically.
