How To Stay Safe While Ordering Food Delivery During The Coronavirus!

Los Angeles Times Food Bowl Presents: Night Market

Hopefully you heard about the new rules that the Governor and Mayor put on Cali in LA!

Bars, Wineries, Pubs are all to be closed. Restaurants are to reduce to 50% occupancy and Bars and pubs can make food but only for delivery.

So is safe to order food for delivery?! Apparently YES! If you take a few precautions. Here are some tips for you!

The Centers for Disease Control and Food and Drug Administration hasn't found that the coronavirus can be transmitted through food. But it can live on surfaces, so make sure to wash your hands after handling take-out containers.

Pay on the delivery app so you and the driver don't have to handle cash. But if you do tip with cash (which you should toss a bit extra right now), just make sure to wash your hands after.

Take your food out of the containers and use your own plates.

Make sure to throw out all the bags and trash when you're done and wipe down any counters where the bag and containers touched.

BUT do keep in mind, some places don't give their workers sick pay, so to make ends meet, some workers may be going to work sick. So as much as you can, cook at home.
