It feels like every other week there is a virus going around that people keep getting but this time it happened on a Cruise ship! According to the CDC, almost 300 people - passengers and staff got sick. Their symptoms were vomiting and diarrhea, but the cause is unknown.
A Princess Cruises spokesperson said it might have been the norovirus.
Norovirus is really contagious and actually has the nickname the “cruise ship virus."
Apparently people who got sick on the ship were told to isolate and stay in their rooms!
“Norovirus can be especially challenging to control on cruise ships because of the close living quarters, shared dining areas, and rapid turnover of passengers. When the ship docks, norovirus can be brought on board in contaminated food or water or by passengers who were infected while ashore,”
