Kendrick Lamar & Dave Free Set To Produce Comedy Film For pgLang

Kendrick Lamar’s announcement in 2021 of stepping away from the TDE label had fans in a shock, but the Compton rapper’s recent announcement of pgLang’s big move had fans feeling a little more excited.

On Jan. 13 the rapper’s co-founded company pgLang announced that Kendrick Lamar and business partnerDaveFreewill be producing their first comedy film through Paramount+ streaming platform.

The untitled comedy film will tagMatt Stone andTrey Park, who produce the adult sitcom, ‘South Park,’ as producers. It will also be written by comedianVernon Chatman, who plays characters for South Park.

The press release expressed that the film will be based on a young Black man finding out that his girlfriend’s family line owned his ancestors.

pgLang’s first comedy film will begin shooting in Spring 2022.
