Just last week "Jeopardy" announced the new host of the show would be Mike Richards. He was a producer on the show and was also a guest host and they felt like he was the best pick for the show.

However a couple days ago a few comments that Mike made during an old podcast came to light and he had to apologize for them!

"It pains me that these past incidents and comments have cast such a shadow on Jeopardy! as we look to start a new chapter,"

So Mike did take a few episodes but today's filming has been cancelled. This memo has been released

"will now resume the search for a permanent syndicated host. In the meantime, we will be bringing back guest hosts to continue production for the new season, details of which will be announced next week."

Mike will remain as an Executive Producer however they will now be looking for a new host.

"I want to apologize to each of you for the unwanted negative attention that has come to Jeopardy! over the last few weeks and for the confusion and delays this is now causing. I know I have a lot of work to do to regain your trust and confidence."
