Amazon has denied reports that it will soon accept Bitcoin as a form of payment.
A company spokesperson chatted with Reuters to shut down the rumors and speculation.
“Notwithstanding our interest in the space, the speculation that has ensued around our specific plans for cryptocurrencies is not true,” the spokesperson said, “We remain focused on exploring what this could look like for customers shopping on Amazon.”
Rumors began to fly after the company posted a job listing for a "Digital Currency and Blockchain Product Lead" last week.
Obviously Amazon could still go crypto sometime in the future, but it doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon.
