Two Street Vendors Struck, One Fatally Killed, By Suspected DUI Driver

It's a sad day for the city of Ontario.

Two beloved fruit street vendors were struck by a suspected DUI driver. According to ABC 7, the local vendors were crossing Riverside Drive this morning when the suspect's vehicle crashed into them. One of the vendors was killed and while the other one was injured.

"The driver was identified as 43-year-old Jessica Dewet of Chino. Dewet is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs and was arrested on charges of felony driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter," police said.

A GoFundMe page was created for Héctor Eduardo Rabinal, who passed away at the scene. While the other vendor was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

Rabinal's brother, Carlos told ABC 7 he worked nearly every day to send money back to their family. My "brother was a hard worker and he had two children in Guatemala," he said., was a hard worker and he had two children in Guatemala.
