A cafe in Northern California is under heat after its owner puts new policy charging a fee of $5 if customers wear face masks.

Per NBC News, the owner of Fiddlehead’s Cafe in Mendocino, California, Chris Castleman put up a sign announcing the fee for customers who wear masks while ordering food.

However, there's a unique twist to this. According to Castleman, it's for a good cause because he's looking to donate the proceeds of this mask fee to Project Sanctuary, a local domestic abuse organization.

“I don’t think $5 to charity is too much to ask from mask wearing customers who claim to care so much about the community they live in,” Castleman told the news outlet.

“I don’t believe in mask wearing,” Castleman continued. “Our customer base has been strongly aligned with our beliefs, but I think some are really angry at our cafe. It’s their choice. They can choose what business they support. They can go to any other business in my county, state.”

Now, what do you think? If charging a fee for those who want to continue wearing their mask covering okay? Let us know below.
