Warner Music Group Hosts Pre-Grammy Celebration - Arrivals

In an recent interview with Vanity Fair actress Issa Rae revealed that Nipsey Hussle actually helped her repair her relationship with Lauren London.

Well before "Insecure" Issa had a show on YouTube called "Awkward Black Girl" and when they planned to turn that into a TV show Executives decided that the main role should go to Lauren London, but in Issa's memoir she complained that Lauren was wrong for the role. Issa says that saying this was one of her biggest regrets and that Lauren was actually hurt by the comments she made.

Thankfully Nipsey was able to help them work it out. “He was like, ‘You should just talk to her. Let me set it up.”

“It actually sparked an amazing two-hour conversation. We had so much in common,” Rae added, “She was like, ‘People don’t understand, I’m an awkward black girl.’ In the same way that I was upset about the limited portrayal of black women, she was like, ‘People do the same thing to me.’ I completely get that.”

Issa and Lauren ended up making up at Diddy's 50th Birthday party a couple years ago!

In the article Issa also said that she will not longer write or star in her own projects!

“I’m never doing this again,” she says referring to her experience on “Insecure.” “I told myself I would never write and be in a show that I created again. It takes up a lot of your life, and I like to do a lot of things.”
