2021 Mardi Gras Parades Cancelled Due To COVID-19

Annual Mardi Gras Parade Held In New Orleans

Mardi Gras might just be different in 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of New Orleans is not allowing Mardi Gras parades to take place this year coming up.

"Parades of any kind will not be permitted this year because large gatherings have proven to be super spreader events of the COVID-19 virus," the City of New Orleans website stated.

In fact, the cancelation of Mardi Gras in New Orleans also goes for all cities who celebrate Fat Tuesday. With the recent cases of COVID on a spike, it is best to play it safe.

Of course, those who enjoy Mardi Gras took to social media to voice their opinion.
