Swisher Sweets Awards Cardi B With The 2019 "Spark Award"

Cardi is getting ready to drop her shoe line this week and to help promote she recently did a photo shoot where she posed like the Goddess Durga.

Fans did not appreciate that the Reebok ad that depicts her as Goddess Durga. The ad shows her with ten hands, similar to Maa Durga.

Durga is the symbol of strength, femininity, and liberation and it inspired Cardi when the idea of her mimicking the goddess was suggested to her.

A user, who is Hindu, read Cardi up and down with this post:"People are saying Cardi B is paying homage to our Hindu goddess Durga. So as a Hindu, I want to say that:

1-Wearing a shoe in a temple is prohibited

2-Durga maa is not to be used as an aesthetic

3-Durga maa is NEVER depicted bare bodied

4-THIS. IS. NOT. HOMAGE. IT'S. DISRESPECT."

Cardi quickly took to social media to apologize and let people know that it wasn’t her intention to offend anyone or their religion.“I wasn’t trying to be disrespectful; maybe I should have done my research. I’m sorry, I can’t change the past but I will do more research for the future,"wrote Cardi.
