#LovebugNation, the fight for #JusticeForAndresGuardado continues!
This is such a hope inspiring breakthrough. Andres’ and his family AND the people of #LosAngeles deserve to have #SheriffMiguelVega held accountable for shooting 18 year old teenager Andres in the back FIVE TIMES!
We can’t expect those who live in the City of LA to feel comfortable with those charged to “protect” us when police officers are killing Black and Brown members of our community without reason or accountability.
We still have a long way to go but this is a great first step.
Important to note this this is #LACounty’s first request of this kind in more than 30 years!
And per a news release from the Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, they are doing this “in the interest of public transparency,”
#LovebugNation, swipe left to read the entire news release.
In the meantime, here’s a key summary.
“The Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner is committed to transparency and providing the residents of Los Angeles County an independent assessment of its findings in this case,” said Dr. Jonathan Lucas, Los Angeles County’s Chief Medical Examiner-Coroner. “An inquest ensures that our residents will have an independent review of all the evidence and findings of our office and of the cause and manner of death of Mr. Guardado.”
I look forward to speaking to incoming DA George Gascon about the changes that will be made to better protect our citizens in our State and to for him to make sure that cowards who take an innocent life, even if hiding behind a badge, are held responsible. ✊🏼
La lucha sigue, as does our #HomeworkForChange! Who’s ready to keep advocating? X💋, L
