McDonald's Announces New Plant-Based Burger "The McPlant"

12 McDonald's Restaurants Closed Across Melbourne After Deliver Driver Tests Positive For COVID-19

After teaming up with several celebrities for limited edition meals this year, McDonald's just announced its plans for a plant-based menu. The popular fast-food restaurant will be debuting their first-ever plant-based burger, the McPlant in 2021.

"McPlant is crafted exclusively for McDonald’s, by McDonald’s," Ian Borden, McDonald's international president said in a statement. "In the future, McPlant could extend across a line of plant-based products including burgers, chicken substitutes and breakfast sandwiches."

"There are other plant-based burgers out there, but the McPlant delivers our iconic taste in a sink-your-teeth-in (and wipe-your-mouth) kind of sandwich. It’s made with a juicy, plant-based patty and served on a warm, sesame seed bun with all the classic toppings,” McDonald’s added.

CNBC reports that some McDonald's restaurants will first test their plant-based items and then will decided if they will be staying for good.
