Don't Fall For This IRS Stimulus Check Scam. Details Here.

There is always some kind of scam going around that involves stealing your money or identity and right now the IRS is warning people to not fall for this new scam.

A lot of people are aware of the calling scam but some people have been receiving a text message that gets people to click a bad link.

Some people have been getting this message

"You have received a direct deposit of $1,200 from COVID-19 TREASFUND. Further action is required to accept this payment into your account. Continue here to accept this payment..."

It then has a link that will send you to a fake government website that has you insert your information. From there they will steal your information and bank information.

The IRS wants people to know that they do NOT send unsolicited texts or emails, nor does it call people with threats of jail or lawsuits, or does it demand tax payments on gift cards.
