So there are a LOT of companies that are working on a Covid-19 vaccine however Johnson & Johnson just revealed that they have put a pause on their trial because one of their volunteers have gotten sick.
The company released a statement and said
"Following our guidelines, the participant's illness is being reviewed and evaluated by the ENSEMBLE independent Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) as well as our internal clinical and safety physicians,"
"Adverse events -- illnesses, accidents, etc. -- even those that are serious, are an expected part of any clinical study, especially large studies."
However the company didn't say what the illness was that the volunteer got. But usually trials like this will stop so that the doctors can figure out of the illness can be linked to the vaccine or if it's just a coincidence!
