Mariah Carey’s memoir is out and “The Meaning of Mariah Carey” reminds us why Mariah is the queen of shade.
Although there are some dark moments in the book, such as her marriage to Tommy Mottola, there are also funny ones, like the time she wouldn’t print Jennifer Lopez’s name in an interview so she referred to her as “another female entertainer on [Sony] (whom I don’t know).”
Of course, this brought back the nostalgia of when Mariah was asked about J. Lo back in a 1993 interview and she responded with the now-famous meme of her saying, “I don’t know her.”
Mariah later revealed to Pitchfork in 2018 what she really was trying to do, “I really was trying to say something nice or say nothing at all. I really was,” said Mariah.
