Missing Alabama State Student Found Dead

The week-long search for a missing Alabama State University student has come to a tragic end.

The body of Adam Dowdell Jr., 22, was found Monday just blocks away from the university, according to the Montgomery Police Department.

Dowdell's cause of death wasn't immediately obvious, says Police Captain Saba Coleman.

Dowdell was last seen on September 8th, when he reportedly left his dorm to go to an ATM, his roommates told police.

"We all had hoped for a different outcome," says ASU president Quinton T. Ross Jr. "Losing a student is always difficult, and the Hornet Nation is in mourning over his death."

When kids go away to college, are they at an age when they'll make safe decisions?
