Florida City Lifts 13 Year Ban On Saggy Pants

Florida has repealed the city's ban on sagging pants. The original bill passed in 2007. A subsequent ordinance went into place in 2013 that made it illegal for men and women to wear saggy trousers that showed any of their underwear. The ACLU called the law a "ridiculous waste of public resources" and a target to penalize Black youths. Civil citations were issued to anyone busted for the act. 4 of the 5 city commissioners voted to repeal the law upon the first read of the proposal. A second read and vote will officially abolish the law. Do you see more laws like these coming off of the books?
