Naomi Osaka Makes Statement at U.S. Open With Her Mask

Tennis star Naomi Osaka stepped out at the U.S. Open with a serious message.

Before and after her first-round win Monday night, she wore a face mask with the name Breonna Taylor on it, a Black woman who was fatally shot by police.

Osaka says she brought six other masks with different names. "For me, (it's about) just spreading awareness. I feel like the more people who know the story, then the more interesting or interested they'll become in it."

Osaka hopes she keeps winning so she can showcase more names. Osaka was the 2018 U.S. Open champ along with the 2019 Australian Open.
