I mean...are you even surprised??? We've seen crazy things this year and now this! Yup an Asteroid as BIG as the Empire State Building is coming towards Earth!
BUT before you start looking for a bunker - don't worry NASA estimates that the Asteroid will be passing passed us!! It will however get "close" - 3 Million miles! Nasa expects it to pass near our planet on Saturday.
It does get scary when NASA says - "the celestial planet killer will actually keep a distance of over 3.1 million miles when it passes."
They are calling it "Asteroid 2002 NN4" - and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) has estimated the Asteroid to be 250-570 meters (820-1,870 feet) in diameter.
There are 20,000 near-Earth asteroids and they do occasionally make an appearance. In 2013, one slammed into Russia, injuring 1,600 people.
