LA County Reports Most Single-Day Coronavirus Deaths

The number of coronavirus-related deaths in Los Angeles County climbed by 40 between Monday and Tuesday, marking the area's most single-day deaths since the pandemic began. Of the 40 people who died, 25 were over 65 years old and nine were between 41 and 65, says Los Angeles County Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer. She didn't reveal details about the remaining six victims. Ferrer also reports 670 new COVID-19 cases, which came just one day after L.A. County saw its lowest number of new cases -- 239 -- since March 26th. The total number of the county's confirmed cases now sits at 10,047, Ferrer says. Does it feel like this problem gets worse every day? Are lawmakers being a little premature in talking about allowing businesses to reopen?
