So it's a little confusing but yes Tekashi 6ix9ine could be released from prison any day now and it's all thanks to his Lawyers!
So a couple weeks ago Tekashi's lawyer asked a judge to release 6ix9ine early and finish his sentence at home because he was worried about getting Coronavirus! Apparently Tekashi has asthma and had bronchitis last year so he's high risk!
Well the judge said he wasn't actually allowed to make that call and that actually the Bureau of Prisons had to make that decision.
However Tekashi's lawyer said that technically Tekashi is NOT a BOP prisoner and they can not make that call.
So fast forward, it was actually the government that had to make the call on whether or not to release Tekashi, and a few hours before deadline, the government came back and said that if Tekashi's lawyer can prove taht Tekashi is at high risk, then they will not stand in the way of him being released early!
They call it a "compassionate release"
So we may see Tekashi released in the next few days, if he is, he'll be put on 24 hour lockdown. Which lets be honest, most of us are on 24 hour lockdown!
