Bhad Bhabie was almost the victim of a $450,000 scam.
According to TMZ, the 16-year-old rapper's team was contacted by people who claimed that they were from the office of Peter Woo—a Chinese billionaire businessman—and offered Bhad Bhabie, born Danielle Bregoli, a massive payday to make a quick speech at a charity event in Hong Kong. However, their offer included a few red flags that ultimately saved Danielle from getting majorly scammed.
The first red flag came when the scammers wanted Danielle to cash a check for $450,000 and then wire them back $300,000. The second came when the "Bestie" rapper's team noticed that the website for Peter Woo Philanthropies was a carbon copy of charity websites that have been used in previous scams, which targeted Dog The Bounty Hunter and other celebs.
Not to mention, the scammers' offer also sounded too good to be true as it included perks like private air travel for Danielle and her team, luxury accommodations and a $10,000 wardrobe.
Funny enough, after receiving the $450,000 check, Bhad Bhabie did, in fact, wire money back to the scammers. However, she only sent them $0.01 with a hilarious memo that read: “Suck my dick. Love, Bhad Bhabie.”
Other celebs targeted in similar scams include Million Dollar Listing star Madison Hildebrand, Baywatch stars Donna D'Errico and Krista Allen, former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak and Kim Kardashian's BFF, Jonathan Cheban, TMZ reports.
