Lil Nas X Opens Up About His Mother's Addiction & Grandmother's Death

Lil Nas X will be making his first Grammy appearance this Sunday (January 26) but before he takes home any of the six awards he’s up for, the Georgia native opens up about what put him on the “Old Town Road.”

In a new interview with Variety, Montero "Lil Nas X" Lamar Hill talks about his estranged relationship with his mother, who is an addict, as well as the death of his grandmother.

"She was the first person close to me who died. It was devastating. And it made me a hypochondriac: I’d wake up, heart racing. It was scary," said Nas. Full interview here.
