Billie Eilish Talks About Her Depression & Suicidal Thoughts!

Spotify Hosts "Best New Artist" Party At The Lot Studios - Red Carpet

I gotta say, more and more I adore Billie Eilish and it's not jsut because I enjoy her music but I've seen her perform live and her energy was amazing! Plus her interactions with her fans is something I've never really seen! I'm really excited to see her at the Grammys this week!

So in a new interview with Gayle King Billie opened up about having depression and suicidal thoughts. She was reflecting about how her career exploded in 2018 and it was hard for her to deal with.

“I was so unhappy last year,”Billie said about 2018. “I was so unhappy, and I was so, like, joyless.” She then admitted, “I genuinely didn’t think I would make it to 17.”

Then Gayle asked her about a line from her song "Bury a Friend" where Billie says “I wanna end me.”

Billie said "yeah" and then said “I think about this one time I was in Berlin and I was alone in my hotel, and I remember there was a window right there. I remember crying because I was thinking about how the way that I was going to die was, I was going to do it.”

Wow, that hurts my heart, I feel for her! I could never deal with all the stuff she was going through! I'm so glad she was able to pull herself out of it! She said her Mom was the reason she didn't take an extra step out of the window!

Billie said she's in a much better place now and wants to use her platform to help others and then explained her fans really help her!

“I just grab [the fans] by the shoulders and I’m like, ‘Please take care of yourself and be good to yourself and be nice to yourself,’”Billie shared. “‘Don’t take that extra step and hurt yourself further.’”
