A New Bill Is Considering Banning Cell Phones For Anyone Under 21!

Popular Photo-Sharing App Instagram Reveals New York City As Most Posted City

Every teen in the state of Vermont has already started packing in case this new proposed bill passes! So a new bill was introduced in the Vermont Senate that would make it illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to use or possess a cellphone in the state.

The bill would make possession or use of a cellphone a misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of a year behind bars or a $1,000 fine or both!

Basically they believe that cell phones used by people under the age of 21 are linked to the rise in driving fatalities, suicides, mass shootings or terrorism.

"They even said "The internet and social media, accessed primarily through cell phones, are used to radicalize and recruit terrorists, fascists and other extremists."

Senator John Rogers who proposed the bill said

"In light of the dangerous and life-threatening consequences of cell phone use by young people, it is clear that persons under 21 years of age are not developmentally mature enough to safely possess them."

The CRAZY thing is, Senator Rogers doesn't even believe that the bill will pass! He said

"I have no delusions that it’s going to pass. I wouldn’t probably vote for it myself."

THEN make the Bill? He said he did it to make a point! Ummm this sounds counter productive to me. Start something else that could help increase awareness or teaching teens to put down their phone more!
