Recall: Don't Eat that Apple Until You Read This

An apple a day keeps the doctor away -- unless the apple was grown in Michigan. Still love you the same Michigan but not loving the apples right now.

The FDA has issued a recall for more than a half dozen apple varieties that were shipped from Michigan to 7 other states, fearing they could be contaminated with listeria!

The apples in question were sent to retailers in Michigan, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, Texas and Wisconsin, according to the FDA.

Officials say residents of those states who purchased apples between October 16th and October 21st should either throw them away or return them to the store from which they were purchased:

Red Delicious distributed in trays; sold individually for retail sale, delivered to North Carolina Department of Agriculture, Food Distribution Division – Butner, in Creedmoor, N.C., and Feeding South Florida Pembroke Park, Fla., on Oct. 21 with PLU numbers 4168 and 4167.
