California Is The 1st State In the Country to Push Back School Start Times

It's official!

California has become the first state in the country to require later start times.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the new law will be implemented over time, the new start times have to be in effect by the start of the 2022 - 2023 school year. For middle school, the start time is no earlier than 8 a.m. and high schools will begin no earlier than 8:30 a.m.

Studies have shown teens are healthier and perform better when school starts later.
