Michael William Palmatier, 48, is a former Arizona fire captain who has been accused of molesting an 8-year-old girl after being "extremely intoxicated." Palmatier claims earlier that day he had taken a muscle relaxer before having sex with his girlfriend.
According to reports, Palmatier had told a colleague at the Gilbert Fire Department that he did things he couldn't take back during a relative's 50th birthday party at home.
Palmatier was charged last week but has been released from police custody to being placed on house arrest until May 1, his court appearance.
