Authorities in Temecula, California are warning residents to be careful when leaving their homes after razor blades were found taped to a car door handle and a bicycle.
The first incident was discovered by a resident who found several blades attached to his car "in a manner likely to cause injury," according to the Temecula Sheriff's Station. Fortunately, the man spotted the sharp objects before he attempted to open his car door, according to a sheriff's report. The second incident occurred over the weekend when a resident found a single blade attached to the handlebars on his bicycle, an incident report indicates.
Surprisingly, investigators don't believe the incidents are related. "During this investigation, it was undetermined why the razor was left on a vehicle," a statement from the sheriff's station reads. "It does not appear to be related to the incident that occurred on January 9th. Both incidents occurred in separate areas of the city of Temecula."
Nonetheless, sheriff's officials are urging the public to "use caution when opening their vehicle doors."
