L.A. public school officials say the 1-billion-dollar iPad program is a good deal for the district.

A presentation planned for today’s board of education meeting will show each costs about 770-dollars and shows that’s a 300-dollar discount from retail cost for the iPads, accessories, and software.

The board will also learn more about how the district plans to use them to eventually replace textbooks and how students will use them to take tests.
