Why Pepsi Isn’t Airing Their Iconic Super Bowl Ads This Year

Budgets are a little tighter for everyone right now, even Pepsi.

Pepsi will not be airing any ads during the "Big Game" this year because they want to refocus their funding.

In fairness, they'll be putting their budget into the 12-minute Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show, which may as well be considered advertising.

Pepsi is hoping that the focus will get fans more excited about the mini-concert from The Weeknd, especially after such a strange 12 months of almost no concerts.

In a interview with Yahoo Todd Kaplan, the vice president of marketing says , "We are going to double down on our existing 12 minutes in the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show in the middle of the Super Bowl, and we are going to build it out like we have never built it out before,"

Also on the 'no-ad' list this year is Hyundai.
