Lotto Winner Whose Ticket Was Lost In Mail Gets Her Money

Ever had an important letter lost in the mail?

A Florida woman who won $1,000 in the lottery was out of luck after her winning ticket was lost in the mail earlier, but there's good news.

Sue Burgess says she won the $1,000 drawing on July 29th. 

But the Lottery office was closed due to the pandemic, so she decided to send the ticket by certified mail instead. 

Tracking information shows the ticket arriving at the post office on August 12th, but it was never delivered for some reason. 

She was told by the Lottery, "no ticket, no prize." 

The Postal Service has apologized for any "inconvenience" to Burgess - which probably doesn't make her feel any better. 

The good news?

After this incident went viral, she received her $1,000 prize.

She said the lotto officials agreed to cut her the check after the post office lost her ticket!
