A 17-year-old freshman at Stephen F Austin State University woke up to find police officers entering her dorm room with guns drawn at 3 in the morning - after a false report filed by fellow students.
Christin Evans says a group of 10 students, including her roommates, called police to report that Evans had a pair of scissors and was threatening to stab people.
Her parents believe the prank was racially motivated and that police "could've shot her."
University President Scott Gordon says the incident is being investigated, promising that "each perpetrator will be dealt with appropriately."
Evans, who says she "can't sleep at night" since the incident, has moved to a new dorm room and is taking classes online.
