TikTok CEO Kevin Mayer, has resigned from TikTok after only 3 months. Prior to his short gig with TikTok, Mayer was the chairman of direct-to-consumer & international division at Disney.
In the recent weeks Trump has put a lot of pressure on The Chinese owned TikTok, Trump has threatened to ban the app from operating in the U.S. if the app isn't sold by Sep 15, 2020.
"In recent weeks, as the political environment has sharply changed, I have done significant reflection on what the corporate structural changes will require, and what it means for the global role I signed up for," Mayer said in an email obtained by The NYT. "Against this backdrop, and as we expect to reach a resolution very soon, it is with a heavy heart that I wanted to let you all know that I have decided to leave the company."
Microsoft is in talks to buy TikTok so we shall have to wait and see what unfolds ....
