The cat is out if the bag.
Doja cat announced on Wednesday that she has teamed up with Nicki Minaj on the already billboard charting single, 'Say so'. Doja Cat hit her first No. 1 on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart with "Say So." Previously, Doja scored her first chart-topping radio single on the Rhythmic Songs chart earlier this month.
As reported by Billboard.com, Doja spoke about how fans initially believed Nicki was going to be featured on Hot Pink. "People thought the surprise feature was going to be Nicki because I blurred the name out at first -- and, well, the album is titled Hot Pink," she said last November. "Also, I'm just a huge fan of Nicki. I blurred out the name, but it wasn't necessarily to create a sense of anticipation specifically around." The surprise feature ended up being Gucci Mane on "Like That."
'Say so' the remix is scheduled to drop tonight per Doja's tweet.
Rumors were flying earlier this year that Doja & Nicki were beefing. It all started when a fan posted a mock up 'Rolling stone' cover with Nicki in the center and Doja & Megan Thee Stallion to her left and right. Doja's fanbase argued that Doja should be in the center not Nicki. Things got ugly from there between the two fanbases. Nicki's Barbz even started a hashtag " DojaCatIsOverParty ... yikes.
Enough of the drama. I'm glad to see two queens coming together to make great music.
