Here we go again! Abbot has had to halt production of baby formula again this time due to flooding at the plant. Just two weeks after the months-long Alimentum and EleCare formulas shortage due to the FDA receiving multiple consumer complaints about bacterial infections related to the formula.
Abbot announced Wednesday that due to severe storms that passed through Michigan Monday, resulting in one of their 4 plants shutting down. While the company is still assessing damages and making repairs, they also stated they had enough supply of their EleCare and their specialty and metabolic formulas to meet demand.
