Dog Rescued in Tahoe months after owner assumed lost in August Caldor Fire!

A reminder to microchip your dogs! A dog named Russ was rescued from the thick Tahoe snow after a skier spotted the missing dog in the mountains. Russ had gone missing back in August 2021 after he ran off while his owner was forced to evacuate Tahoe during the Caldor fire. The owner had reported the missing dog to local animal control yet had assumed the worst.

The skier who spotted the dog posted photos of the freezing dog to Facebook which eventually caught the attention his owner. She then reached out to Tahoe Paws to help her find and rescue Russ.

Russ was finally reunited with his owner 4 months after going missing!
