Health officials in New Mexico are urging clients of an Albuquerque spa to get tested for HIV and hepatitis B and C infections.
The New Mexico Department of Health identified practices at VIP Spa last week that could potentially spread blood borne infections including HIV, hepatitis B and hepatitis C. The spa was issued a cease and desist letter and closed immediately.
People who received injection related services including the vampire facial in May or June should get tested for possible infections.
The inspection was undertaken after a client of the Spa developed an infection.
